Well then

So I have changed this blog to a knitting blog.
Lots of them out there..I should know. I spend way too much time lurking like some kind of knit-crazed stitch junkie who doesn't want to be found out..wait..not LIKE one..I AM one...guess it's too late about the being found out part?

Lemme get on with it;

I was using this sporadically to post crafts, and will leave the general crafts stuff up.
But I recently got it into my head to attempt TKGA ( The Knitting Guild Association) Master's Program .

How far am I with this project...well..cough..erm..

I still need to join the guild.
I run any plans that will cost more than 100 dollars past my fiance, Bill. ( Who will be my husband as of July 28th!)
So ...not looking foward to that conversation..sure..he supports anything I want to do. Almost formally so ( he's kind of German)..but it will be news to him that there is even such a thing as a guild for knitters..or a Master's Program..and I will get all flustered trying to explain..
sort of like I am getting flustered now...

anyways..this is now a knitting blog ( but a hook might slip in from time to time..I do both ;)  )
I named it Wrong Side...because I am left handed. I will be interested to see how that works out while going through the Master's program. I also intend to talk about whatever hits me to talk about concerning knitting. I have TONS of pet peeves about knitting and crochet. I wanna share.

I will get some pics soon.
I also want one of those sidebar thingies that shows your projects and the progress.

Well..I DO have the pic of the little purse I knitted for my daughter. I will copy and paste the story from my deviant art site. One of my pet peeves surfaces...teaching children in a manner that will ensure that they never want to try the activity being taught ever again.

I saw a kit designed to teach children to knit at the thrift store. It had all the parts it seemed so for less then two dollars I went ahead and bought it...even though I have been knitting for years, it had yarn in it..so why not?
I discarded the useless needles and the pattern ( and made up my own) and wondered how many children had decided never to knit again because of the horrid needles for this kit..and the fact that it uses boa yarn...not what I would want to use on my first project...

Anyway, instead, I came up with this small bag for my 4 year old daughter...who will be given proper needles when she is ready to learn..not ones that barely have a point! If she wants to try novelty yarn on the first go..well, I'll be there to help her.

The strap is crocheted holding together the boa yarn and main color...OH! And I crocheted a small button, that is barely visable in the pic. I used the main color for that.
Thanks for looking and commenting.

And here is the wee little bag. It took in total about 2.5 hours and is of mostly unknown fiber..ok..totally unknown ...but type of yarn is pretty clear, I think. I used size 8 needles.

Comments:
thanks for dropping a couple of comments on my blog.

great to have another knitter blogging.

and can I send my congrats to you in advance? wish you have a blissful marriage.

Thanks Lois...we have for many years had a blissful ...erm...boyfriend/girlfriend thing.

Cute purse, I love the color, though I find myself always using (and crocheting) neutral colored bags for myself.
I am looking forward to see more crochet projects from you. I think you are very artistic and good in all your medium.

Ah..hi Mimi. I like your crochet very much. I actually started on a necklace for my wedding due to your blog.
I think I'm just off tonight though...my tension seems all screwy...
I make alot of different kinds of mistakes, but tension is usually not one...so, I decided to pick it up tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.
